Green Smoothie Goodness!


I recently bought Kris Carr's new book "Crazy Sexy Diet" and read the whole thing in one day. It's wonderful! All about clean, healthy eating. I'm starting to prepare for her 21 day detox where all you eat are whole foods, like vegetables, fruits, nuts, beans etc. Nothing processed. To get myself ready, I've been drinking green smoothies. They are so easy to make!

Here is the recipe that I make:
  • One half of a ripe avocado
  • One large cucumber with the skin cut off
  • One large pear (skin on)
  • Five big pieces of fresh romaine lettuce
  • One cup of coconut water
I throw half of it in the blender and mix it all up, then add the rest. When finished it has a nice smooth consistency thanks to the avocado! A little agave will sweeten it up!


It's so good! And takes less than 10 minutes to make. I LOVE it!

So, don't be scared...

It's surprisingly delicious!

Seriously...I promise if you give these a try, you'll think they are fantastic. And they'll give you a nice kick of energy that's better than caffeine! Let me know what you think!

  2. I have been making these (or a concoction sort of like these depending on what I have) and they really are good...I usually use baby spinach and I can't even taste it.

  3. They are so good, aren't they? The romaine makes it really sweet, but I've used Kale too. I'll have to try adding baby spinach. That sounds good!
